What are the technical requirements to take the course(s)?

Students will need access to a computer and stable internet connection. The courses also require the use of a microphone.

What is the format of the course(s)?

Courses are virtual instructor-led classes and will typically include 4 to 8 sessions. Sessions may consist of various components, including small and large group discussions, individual and group activities, and opportunities for feedback from peers, facilitators, and subject matter experts.

What are the time requirements?

Courses are typically comprised of 4 to 8 virtual sessions that are held in the daytime (Eastern Time). These sessions will be 3.5 hours, or a half-day, in length. Depending on the course, sessions will be held 1 to 2 times per week. There may be some coursework required outside of these sessions.

How are the sessions delivered?

All sessions are delivered virtually. Students will be sent details in advance on how to access the learning management system and video platform, as well as any other requirements.

Will I receive a certificate/badge of completion?

Yes, course participants will receive a digital credential upon successful completion of each course. Please note this digital credential indicates the successful completion of a course and is not a degree or diploma.

What networking opportunities are available?

All participants will have the opportunity to network with participants from their course, as well as course facilitators, subject matter experts, and mentors at networking events and in class.

- What is the Mentorship Program?

Are you a thought leader who wants to give back to Canada’s business community? Do you want to build impactful relationships with high-performing leaders of today and tomorrow?

The Globe and Mail Leadership Institute is recruiting mentors who are interested in volunteering their time and expertise to support course participants in their professional development journey. Mentors must participate in a one-hour roundtable discussion in the final session of the course and a virtual meet-up after the course ends. Course participants and mentors will also have the option to participate in select Globe-hosted Report on Business events.

What is the time commitment?

Mentors must commit three to six hours of their time over a twelve-month period. This includes preparation for, and participation in, a roundtable discussion and virtual meet-up. Attending Globe-hosted Report on Business events will also require a time commitment, which will vary.

- What are we looking for in mentors?

We are looking for business leaders with a strong track record of success, and the experience and expertise that is aligned with our course offerings.
